What’s our goal for the kids?
The purpose of Living Water’s Children’s Ministry is to help parents fulfill their role as the primary educators of their children in all matters of faith. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7) Our goal is not to replace the parents’ responsibility, but rather to partner with parents in an effort to reinforce what’s already being taught at home.
What can I expect when I visit for the first time?
Security is important to us, so we have volunteer guardians to help protect all who attend our services. They take their responsibility very seriously. At the check-in area, you’ll be greeted by a volunteer or staff member who will help you register your child. For our first-time guests we ask that you fill out a simple form so that we may enter you into our computer system. For little ones (under 3 years of age), we will provide a pager for you, in the event we would need to reach you during the worship service. All children receive a name tag and parents who do not receive a pager are given a security ticket that must be presented to pick up your child. Your child will do some activities initially, then gather with all the other children where we will collect offering, sing songs to Jesus and participate in an age-appropriate biblical lesson. The children will then return to the smaller classrooms where you can pick them up after the service.
What about kids with special needs?
We have a ministry for those who have disabilities, special needs, or simply need special attention. It is called Imago Dei (Latin for "image of God"). We believe that we are all created in God's image, regardless of our level of ability. Our desire is to help those who need help, by providing a specific buddy/helper to children that qualify. The goal for those serving in this ministry is to help those with special needs to participate in whatever is taking place for that service. If you have a child with special needs, we would love to partner with you in ministering to your child. Please talk to a staff member for more information.
What curriculum do you use? It’s called The Gospel Project.
How do you approach food allergies?
Upon check in each child receives a name tag. If you inform us of a particular allergy your child may have, we can have it indicated on their name tag every time they check in. We do provide snacks but we have a standing no nut policy in order to ensure the safety of your child in light of the varying degrees of reactions.
